About the Journal

Astronomy Education is an online scholarly and methodological journal dedicated to the teaching of astronomy and the development of astronomy education at all levels. The journal brings together materials on contemporary educational practices, technologies, student research activities, the astronomy olympiad movement, as well as event reviews and methodological resources for schools, universities, and institutions of supplementary education.

The journal is intended for teachers, methodologists, researchers, specialists working in science education and outreach, as well as students and learners interested in astronomy and astronomy education. We aim to foster an open professional community and to support the development of a modern culture of teaching astronomy.

The journal is published online four times a year. Access to all publications is open. No fees are charged to authors for submission, processing, or publication. Information on manuscript preparation and formatting, as well as descriptions of thematic sections, is available on the Submissions page.

The journal publishes original research articles, methodological materials, project and inquiry-based studies, analytical reviews, and other works that fit the journal’s scope and meet standards of scholarly and methodological quality. All submissions are reviewed through a double-blind peer-review process.

The primary language of the journal is Russian, but we also accept submissions in English, and we translate selected articles of particular interest into English.
