Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The work is original and does not contain plagiarism, unethical borrowing, or self-plagiarism.
- Sources and data used in the manuscript are properly documented and referenced. The reference list is provided in the order in which sources appear in the text.
- The manuscript has been approved by all co-authors and does not contain any undisclosed conflict of interest. Co-authors confirm their agreement with the journal’s publication policies.
- Required co-author information has been prepared for metadata: full name, affiliation, and email address.
- The source file of the manuscript is prepared in DOC/DOCX (Microsoft Word), ODT (OpenOffice), or TEX (LaTeX — recommended for manuscripts with a large number of formulas).
- The manuscript is anonymized: it does not contain explicit references to the authors’ names, affiliations, or any other information that could reveal their identity.
- A PDF file has been prepared: the manuscript has been exported to PDF for convenient review. This file must be uploaded in addition to the source manuscript file.
- Required illustrations are prepared as separate files in sufficient resolution for publication. These files must be uploaded in addition to the source manuscript.
- The use of artificial intelligence tools, if applied during the research or manuscript preparation, is clearly stated in the article or supplementary materials.
Events, Reviews, and Commentary
This section includes materials on current events in astronomy and astronomy education, analytical reviews, expert commentary, and thematic notes that reflect the state and development trends of the field.
Astronomy and School Education
This section publishes articles on the teaching of astronomy in schools, including integration into the physics curriculum, introductory and preparatory courses, extracurricular activities, supplementary education programs, methodological approaches, and practical resources for teachers.
Astronomical Etudes
This section contains instructional and methodological notes, as well as lecture-style materials that explore specific astronomical concepts and phenomena, as well as methodological ideas.
Student Research Activity
This section features articles and materials on project-based and research activities of school and university students. Submissions may include descriptions of educational projects, methodologies for organizing them, project outcomes, and high-quality examples of student research at various levels.
Astronomy Olympiads
This section publishes materials on the system of astronomy olympiads, methodologies for conducting and evaluating them, analytical overviews, interesting problems and their solutions, as well as methodological recommendations for organizers, teachers, and participants.
Professional Education
This section is dedicated to issues of higher and continuing professional education, including teacher training, university programs, professional development and retraining, as well as modern approaches to instruction and the design of educational pathways.
Education and Technologies
This section features materials on technologies used in astronomy education, including digital learning resources, electronic educational environments, planetarium tools, software solutions, artificial intelligence, and innovative methodological approaches.

Personal data of users of the Astronomical Education journal website are processed under the applicable laws of the Russian Federation, including Federal Law No. 152-FZ “On Personal Data”. By providing data during registration or when submitting materials, the user confirms their consent to its processing. The processed data may include the user’s name, email address, workplace information, and other data necessary for supporting the editorial and publishing workflow, which the user (author, reviewer, or editor) provides voluntarily.
Personal data are used solely for the purposes of operating the Journal: registering users, facilitating communication between authors, reviewers, and the editorial team, sending notifications, and ensuring the functionality of the user account. The editorial office takes the necessary measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access and prevents its misuse. The collected data are not shared with third parties, except in cases directly required by law or by the purposes listed above.
